Whirlwind Sports x Hoka One One Test Day

Saturday 23rd October 2021 saw a return to events at Whirlwind Sports. 

We were very lucky to be asked to put on a test event in association with Hoka which saw their flagship Carbon X2 and Clifton 8 shoes available for road testing. People traveled from far and wide to experience and test the latest innovations Hoka have to offer. 

The Hoka Carbon X2 is positioned as an endurance racer, the Carbon X 2 delivers the same propulsive speed as its predecessor in an adaptable silhouette geared for training and racing alike. Engineered with a responsive, carbon fibre plate and aggressive Meta-Rocker, this performance shoe is a formidable competitor. The epitome of long-range weaponry, the Carbon X 2 pairs softer, lighter foam with the same rubberised foam outsole as the last iteration. Scrutinised with a focus on fit, the Carbon X 2 employs a refined collar shape, notched tongue and engineered mesh upper with embroidered TPU yarns and extra reinforcement around the laces. Get ready for an inherently soft, stable and responsive ride.

The Hoka Clifton 8 features a streamlined silhouette and updated upper made from engineered mesh. How it’s different: New midsole compound offers one of the lightest, most energetic foams to date. Why you’ll love it: They have kept what you love and updated what you didn’t.
